When: Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 7:00AM (Labor Day Weekend)

Where: Maho Bay Beach

Hey Everyone!  Get ready for the 18th Annual Love City Triathlon & Aquathlon! We are sorry to say that there will be no SUPathlon this year due to lack of demand last year--BUT, we are offering an Aquathlon RELAY this year in addition to the Triathlon Relay.

We are also featuring a KIDS MINI SWIM-RUN for little athletes age 8-13 (maximum of 20 participants) (pending permit request)

The event is scheduled for Sunday, September 3rd, 2017. Race starts at 7:00AM! The kids' event will take place before the award ceremony.

The Course

The entire race will be staged from Maho Bay Beach, including start, finish, transition, and after-race picnic!

Detailed course maps and instructions are HERE.

The triathletes will swim a half mile in Maho Bay, then bicycle to Cruz Bay, come back along Centerline to Colombo Smoothie stand, go down Kings Hill and finish back at Maho Bay. The run is a challenging 4-mile course out to Francis Bay and Annaberg, returning to Maho Bay.

The aquathloners will swim the same ½ mile course and run the same 4-mile course as the triathletes. Don’t worry, the iconic stairs are still on the running course!

Participants in the aquathlon or triathlon can form a relay team with one or two other athletes. A triathlon participant may participate in one or two legs. Participants cannot compete as an individual and also be a member of a relay team, nor can a participant be a member of more than one relay team.

KIDS MINI-SWIM-RUN (Pending Permit Request)

This year, we're offering a chance for youth age 8-13 to participate in a mini aquathlon. The course consists of a 50 yard swim and 0.5 mile run. The race fee is $10 per child and the race will take place immediately before the award ceremony. This race is capped at 20 participants.

Inter-Island Competition

The inter-island competition is open to all residents of the Caribbean. A team must have 3 members doing the triathlon as individuals, and the team must be mixed gender (i.e. have at least one female or one male). The top 3 combined times is declared the winner and will have their island’s name mounted on a trophy which is displayed in the establishment of a sponsor. The trophy has been traded back and forth between St. John, St. Croix, and St. Maarten, with St. Croix so far having the most wins. St. John took the title in 2015 and 2016.

The Love City Triathlon, Aquathlon & Relays is only taking 70 participants in total, so please don’t wait until the last minute to sign up. Your registration fee includes a finisher’s award, support on the course, the beach picnic after the event, and awards 3-deep for triathlon, aquathlon, and relay teams (one award per relay team). The beach picnic is not to be missed – yummy food, beer from St. John Brewers, and a random raffle drawing for some prizes from our sponsors.
